Shelter Cove is Hilton Head's upscale marina neighborhood — Broad Creek waterfront dining, boutique shops, sunset cruises, live entertainment, and a lively but sophisticated scene. Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort is here, which makes it surprisingly family-friendly despite the marina setting.

Beach Access

Moderate

Not directly oceanfront — 0.5 to 1 mile drive or bike to Palmetto Dunes beach. Shelter Cove is on Broad Creek (Intracoastal Waterway side). Public beach at Burkes Beach is close.

Vibe & Character

Close to everything — most island restaurants, the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, Coastal Discovery Museum — and the easiest access from the bridge from the mainland. The island's most budget-friendly major hotels are also in this corridor. Bluewater Resort and Marina offers something unique: a lazy river and marina slips in the same property. The area has a more local, less touristy feel than the south-end plantations.

Local Notes

Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort provides complimentary shuttle service to Disney's Beach House (private beach access on the Atlantic side). Shelter Cove Harbour hosts live music, waterfront dining, and sunset cruises throughout the season. The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina is nearby.

⚓ Shelter Cove Harbour

The marina, waterfront dining, Shannon Tanner live music, HarbourFest, and Disney's resort — all in one place.
