Port Royal has the richest history on the island — it was the first landmass sighted by Captain William Hilton and was built atop former Civil War grounds. It's quieter, older, and more residential in character than the south-end resorts.

Beach Access

Excellent

19 beach access paths within the plantation leading to secluded Atlantic beach. Islanders Beach Park is accessible nearby — a beautiful public beach with boardwalk, playground, picnic pavilion, and amenities.

Vibe & Character

The golf here is unusually scenic — Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club has been named one of the 'Top Exotic Golf Courses in the World.' If you want a private, peaceful escape with less traffic and a nature-first feeling, Port Royal delivers. Good for couples and golfers. The 19 beach access paths make this one of the most beach-accessible gated communities on the island, despite its quieter character.
