Parasailing

Soar 500 feet above the Atlantic for a view you won't forget

Parasailing over Hilton Head gives you a perspective on the island that you simply can't get any other way. At 500 feet, you can see the entire island laid out below you — the beaches on one side, the marshes and tidal creeks on the other, and the Atlantic stretching to the horizon. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Savannah. It's one of those experiences that's genuinely hard to describe to someone who hasn't done it.

The ride itself is surprisingly peaceful. Once you're up, the noise from the boat fades away and you're just floating in silence above everything. Most flights last 8–12 minutes in the air, which sounds short but feels much longer when you're up there. The launch and landing happen from the boat — you don't get wet unless you want to (most operators will dip you in the water at the end if you ask).

Parasailing is suitable for most people — you don't need any special fitness level or experience. Weight limits apply (typically 400–500 lbs total per flight), and most operators require participants to be at least 6 years old. Book in advance during summer.
