Bike Rentals

Explore 60+ miles of paved trails on a rental bike — the best way to see the island

Hilton Head has more than 60 miles of dedicated paved bike paths, and riding them is genuinely one of the best ways to experience the island. The paths run through maritime forest draped in Spanish moss, along the Atlantic beachfront, through the resort communities, and past the lagoon networks — all without touching a main road. It's a completely different perspective than driving.

Bike rentals are available island-wide. Most shops offer single-speed cruisers, multi-speed bikes, electric bikes, kids' bikes, and trailers for young children. Rentals typically come with a helmet, lock, and a trail map. Half-day and full-day rates are standard, with weekly rates available for longer stays.

The most popular routes are the beach path along the Atlantic, the Sea Pines forest trails, and the Palmetto Dunes lagoon path. If you only do one active thing on Hilton Head, biking is the one.
