Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks

If you only eat at one restaurant on Hilton Head, make it Hudson's. This place has been doing it right since 1967 — fresh seafood pulled straight from the dock, a waterfront deck that puts you right on the water, and a sunset view that will make you forget whatever was stressing you out before you got here.

Hudson's isn't trying to be fancy. It's trying to be the best seafood restaurant on the island, and it succeeds. The fried shrimp are the real deal — local shrimp, properly fried, not the frozen stuff you get everywhere else. The she-crab soup is legitimately one of the best versions you'll find in the Lowcountry. And the oysters? Steamed fresh, served with crackers and cocktail sauce, eaten while watching the sun drop into the Intracoastal Waterway. That's the move.
